This picture taken by Paul Modley is a Portrait because it doesn't fit the characteristics of an everyday magazine. This picture is aiming more toward making audience feel a certain way rather then making the person who's looking at it want to buy a product. Pictures such as this one lack color and vibrancy, something that normal magazines can't be popular with out.

This picture is not a a picture that would be on the cover of a magazine for the same reasons as the first picture but this one has to much emotion on the face of the person in the picture, it wouldn't be practical on the cover of a magazine.
